Do you have girls who like bows 🎀? Or have family members you can gift hair bows to? Or you just like bows in general? Well, I have two girls and I love creating hair bows for them!
I always start making a plain bow template and add my own twist and design to it to make it more unique and more them (I mean my little girls ;)).
If you want to learn how to create your own plain bow template in Cricut Design Space then follow this easy tutorial to create your own. You can modify these steps along the way so you can make it more uniquely you.
Or you can skip to the bottom of the page to watch the video tutorial instead if you're short on time reading.
Don't for get to share this Tutorial or Pin to Pinterest so others can learn too. Together let's spread the knowledge!

So let's get started!

Learn How to Create a Hair Bow template in Cricut Design Space using basic shapes

Steps
First we have to create an oval. To do this, Create a circle. Unlock the shape aspect ratio by clicking the lock icon at the bottom left of the circle.
Drag the circle to make an oval.

Duplicate this shape and move to the left or right. Make sure both shapes are aligned perfectly by going to edit bar and clicking on align 'center vertically'.

Select both and weld them.

You will need to create a long rectangle. More like a thick line. Do as we did with our oval. By unlocking the shape aspect ratio and dragging the shape.
Place this shape on top of our welded ovals. Make sure all shapes are aligned 'center vertically'.
Select all shapes and hit weld. This will be the loops of our bow.

Ok. On to the tail now.
First create a rectangle ( follow instructions as above).
Next, Create a triangle and unlock the shape aspect ratio. Place it at the bottom of our newly created rectangle and make sure the triangle has the same width as our rectangle. You can plug in the measurements of the width in the edit bar to be exact.

Ensure both the shapes are aligned. Select both and go to edit bar then choose Align then align 'Center Horizontally'.

The height of the triangle is really up to you. You can choose to have the cut in the tail short or long so resize accordingly.
Once you’re happy with this, select these shapes and click on slice. Delete unwanted bits.

OK! now on to the top of the tail.
Create a circle and a square. Use the square to cut the circle in half horizontally. You can do this by placing the square on the bottom half of the circle, select both and slice. Remove unwanted bits.
Place this half circle on the top part of the tail. Resize the width so it’s similar to the rectangle. Take your time and play around. Or you can manually plug in the width measurement of the half circle similar to the width of the tail in the edit bar. Select both and align them 'center horizontally'.
Once you’re happy, select both and weld.

Our bow is finally coming together! Exciting!
Rotate the tail 90 degrees. Make a duplicate of the tail and flip it. Make sure both tails are aligned 'center vertically'.
Select both and weld. Next, create a rectangle similar to what we did for our ovals. Align the tail with this rectangle center vertically. Weld all together. Now you can just resize the tail so it's a bit smaller than the loops.

And that’s it!
You can take this a step further by adding more designs to your bow and making it unique and more you.
Like this bow I created. I added a few hearts to the loops to give it a more romantic valentiney ( is that even a word? Lol!)vibe. I also added an ice cream resin just because I love it!
