How to add a Drip effect to Shapes in Cricut Design Space

In this easy step by step tutorial l'll be showing you how to add a drip effect to shapes in Cricut design space to create that drippy melty ice cream effect or that drippy honey design for your next project.

How to add a Drip effect to Shapes in Cricut Design Space

First thing you want to do is open the design you want to add a drip effect to and a drip SVG file. If you don’t have one, you can grab one from my shop  here. It comes in a bundle so you have different drip options.

Go ahead and duplicate your shape. ​

Create a rectangle by drawing a square and unlocking the aspect ratio (this is the little lock you find at the bottom left side of the square).​

Drag the rectangle across so that the length is the same as the Drip and tall enough to cover the upper bit of the shape which you will see later.
​Select both shapes and Weld.

Align one of the shapes and the drip effect. You can resize and move the drip around until you're happy with the positioning. Once you're happy, go ahead and hit slice. 

Delete the bits made from slicing that will not be needed. This is up to you which bits you want to use and not to use.

As you can see from the image below, you have created 2 styles to cut.
One style created from the sliced action. While another style by placing the drip resulted from the slicing action on top of  the duplicated shape, in my case the heart.

And that’s it! All that's left is to use your created drippy design in your  project!

​Here's a Summary of the Steps Taken:

1-Open a Drip SVG file and your shape in Design Space.

2-Duplicate your Shape.

3-Create a rectangle shape from a square (by unlocking the aspect ratio of the square shape).

4-Ensure the rectangle is the same length as the drip and overlapping.

5-Select both and Weld.

6-Place the newly created rectangle on one of the shapes. Move the Drip around until you're happy with the placement.

7-Select both and hit Slice.

​8-Delete unwanted bits.
